How important is business branding?

How important is business branding?

Business branding is extremely important.

It’s one of those things you can’t ignore and also something that needs careful time and thought put into it. It needs to be specific and it needs to be in-line with your brand/company values.

Business branding – your company values, voice and vision defined.

“If people believe they share values with a company, they will stay loyal to the brand.” – Howard Schultz.

When starting up a company, think about the values and personality you want your brand to have. If you want to deliver outstanding customer service, your branding needs to portray this. Just before a meeting with a client, ask them what their favourite biscuit is and have them at the meeting. If you want to be an expert in your field, your business branding needs to show this to your ideal clients. This could be in the form of helpful tips, blog posts, videos and/or email newsletters.

Have you reviewed your current branding?

If you have an established business, then have you reviewed your branding? Have you looked back at your brand values and personality and checked to make sure your current branding is still portraying them correctly?

Or maybe they’ve changed? This can happen. If they have, have you re-aligned your business branding to match the new values and personality? If not, why not?

Does your team share the same brand values?

If they do, great. If some do and some don’t, sit down with them and share the brand values and vision with them. Inspire your team members to share your vision with you.
